World Delirium Awareness Day

Dear members,

March 12 is World Delirium Awareness Day.

World Delirium Awareness Day is an annual event held in March to raise awareness about delirium and its impact on patients, families, and healthcare systems. The day is hosted by the International Federation of Delirium Societies, iDelirium.

It aims to draw attention to the importance of timely recognition and intervention in cases of delirium, as well as to educate healthcare professionals and the public about the latest research, guidelines, and best practices in the field.

Seminar

The University of Pavia is organizing an informative and educational seminar for all interested parties, especially for university students, emergency medicine residents, and healthcare professionals.

The seminar, thanks to the interaction of two European experts, an emergency geriatrician and an emergency pharmacist, will provide clear diagnostic, organizational, therapeutic, and preventive information on this severe event, which is often misdiagnosed and sometimes not correctly treated.

The seminar will emphasize the importance of multiprofessional collaboration (MPT) between doctors and pharmacists in terms of effectiveness, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. This is a very important message that needs to be conveyed.
